Following the 2026 total solar eclipse, interest in the 2027 sailing surged and Holland America’s public inventory sold out. Because I reserved group space in advance, I still have a limited number of staterooms available at my group pricing.
On August 2, 2027, our ship will sail into the path of totality in the Mediterranean, where we’ll experience one of the longest total solar eclipses of the century — up to six minutes of complete darkness as the moon fully covers the sun.
This 14-day round-trip cruise departs from Athens, Greece, and visits a mix of iconic Mediterranean ports before and after the eclipse, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore ashore in addition to the days at sea. Because we’ll be positioned specifically for optimal viewing, you won’t need to travel inland or fight crowds at a land-based viewing site — the eclipse comes right to you, from the ship’s open decks. With public cabins gone, booking through my group allotment is currently the most reliable way to still secure a stateroom on this sailing.
